If you have a 2008 Dodge Challenger, your vehicle's key has a transponder chip.

Replacement key blanks will need to be cut by a professional before they can be programmed to your vehicle.  An automotive locksmith will be able to cut the key blade and program the transponder chip to your car.

You can buy the transponder chip key blank to replace the remote head key fob.  It will not replace any of the button functions, but it will open the doors and start the vehicle.
