Based on the Make, Model and Year of your vehicle, you may have different programming instructions.  We recommend double checking your owner's manual to confirm which instructions you need to follow.

This list is what each vehicle's instructions most commonly are, but sometimes a vehicle may use different instructions than what is listed.

It can be difficult to get the timing correct while programming this remote.  Read the instructions all the way through before beginning to make sure you fully understand each step and can perform it quickly enough.  If you're having trouble getting the vehicle to enter programming mode, try to vary the timing of the steps.

For the 2001-2004 Dodge Dakota, 2001-2004 Dodge Durango, 2001-2013 Chrysler Town and Country:

You require at least one working remote to program this fob by yourself. If you do not have any working remote fobs, you cannot follow these instructions. A local automotive locksmith or dealership will need to program this remote fob for you. Have ALL remote fobs you wish to have programmed to this vehicle on hand, including all currently working remote fobs. You can only have FOUR fobs programmed at once.

1. Take your working fob and press the LOCK button 5 times in 2 second intervals to synchronize the fob.

2. Insert your key and turn the ignition to RUN. (Do not start the engine.)

3. Take your currently working remote fob, and for 4 to 10 seconds hold the UNLOCK button.

4. Also with your currently working fob: within those 4 to 10 seconds and while still holding the UNLOCK button, press the PANIC button for 1 second and then release both buttons simultaneously. Your vehicle will chime to indicate it has entered into programming mode about 3 seconds after releasing the buttons.

5. Once you hear the vehicle chime, you have 30 seconds to press and then release the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time on your currently working fob. Then press and release the UNLOCK button on that same fob and your vehicle should chime to signify successful programming.

6. You may now set down your original fob, and take your new fob(s) and press and release the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time, and then pressing and releasing the UNLOCK button. Your vehicle should chime after each remote to signify successful programming of the new fobs.

7. Turn your key in the ignition to OFF and remove the key.

9. Test that all remotes are programmed.

For the 2003-2005 Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500:

You require at least one working remote to program this fob by yourself. If you do not have any working remote fobs, you cannot follow these instructions. A local automotive locksmith or dealership will need to program this remote fob for you. Have ALL remote fobs you wish to have programmed to this vehicle on hand, including all currently working remote fobs. You can only have FOUR fobs programmed at once.

1. Enter your vehicle, sit in the driver’s seat and close all of the doors.

2. Fasten your seat belt (fastening the seat belt will cancel any chiming that may confuse you during this programming procedure.)

3. Insert your key into the ignition and turn it ON (Do not start the Engine).

4. On a currently working remote fob, press and hold the UNLOCK button between 4 and 10 seconds, and then press and hold the PANIC button until you hear your vehicle chime. Then release both buttons.

5. On the same remote fob, press and release both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time and your vehicle should chime again to signify it recognizes the remote.

6. On the same remote fob, within 4 seconds of hearing the chime, press and release any button and the vehicle will chime again to signify the remote was programmed.

7. You may now repeat steps 5 and 6 for all additional remotes you would like to program INCLUDING all remote fobs you already had. You can have up to FOUR fobs programmed at once.

8. Turn your key in the ignition to OFF and remove the key.

9. Test that all remotes are programmed.
