Based on the Make, Model and Year of your vehicle, you may have different programming instructions. We recommend double checking your owner's manual to confirm which instructions you need to follow.
This list is what each vehicle's instructions most commonly are, but sometimes a vehicle may use different instructions than what is listed.
It can be difficult to get the timing correct while programming this remote. Read the instructions all the way through before beginning to make sure you fully understand each step and can perform it quickly enough. If you're having trouble getting the vehicle to enter programming mode, try to vary the timing of the steps.
For the 2004 – 2012 Chevrolet Colorado, 2004 – 2012 GMC Canyon and the 2006 – 2010 Hummer H3:
This remote can only be programmed by a professional automotive locksmith or a dealership (it does not need to be the same dealership from where the vehicle was purchased). We recommend an automotive locksmith with good reviews, and calling 2-3 professionals to get the best price.
For the 2001 – 2005 Chevrolet Venture, 2001 – 2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette and the 2001 – 2005 Pontiac Montana:
IMPORTANT: Before entering programming mode, have in possession all of the remotes you will be using on the vehicle. Once you program the remote. all previous remotes that were programmed will be erased from memory. The other remotes will not be functional until you program the them again.
1. Remove your key from the vehicle’s ignition.
2. Find and remove the “BCM PRGRM” fuse from the front passenger door fuse panel. (You can use the legend on the fuse panel to find the “BCM PRGRM” fuse).
3. Close all the vehicle’s doors.
4. Close the vehicle’s liftgate.
5. Insert your key in the ignition, and turn it to the ACC position.
6. Turn the key to OFF and then back to ACC within 1 second.
7. Open and close any door on the vehicle. You will hear the vehicle chime when it enters into programming mode.
8. On the remote you wish to program, press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time for 14 seconds. After 7 seconds, your vehicle may chime to confirm successful connection, but keep holding the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons for about 14 more seconds for a second chime that will signify the remote has been programmed
9. Repeat step 8 for all remotes you wish to program.
10. Remove your key from the ignition.
11. Reinstall the "BCM PRGRM" fuse into the fuse panel and test your remotes
