GM Programming Instructions GM-RKE-O11-3B

Based on the Make, Model and Year of your vehicle, you may have different programming instructions.  We recommend double checking your owner's manual to confirm which instructions you need to follow.

This list is what each vehicle's instructions most commonly are, but sometimes a vehicle may use different instructions than what is listed.

It can be difficult to get the timing correct while programming this remote.  Read the instructions all the way through before beginning to make sure you fully understand each step and can perform it quickly enough.  If you're having trouble getting the vehicle to enter programming mode, try to vary the timing of the steps.

There are no self-programming instructions for these vehicles, you must take this remote to a professional automotive locksmith or dealership for programming.

We recommend an automotive locksmith with good reviews, and calling 2-3 professionals to find the best price.

Programming instructions for the above vehicles:

1. Enter the driver’s seat with all the remotes you wish to have programmed, including any previously working remotes, and close all of the vehicle’s doors.

2. Insert your key into ignition, do not turn it.

3. Press and hold the power UNLOCK button on the driver's door panel, continue to hold down until instructed to release in step 9.

4. Perform steps 5 through 8 in a fairly rapid succession.

5. Turn the ignition to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine.)

6. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.

7. Turn the ignition to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine.)

8. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.

9. Release the power UNLOCK button on the door panel. The vehicle should respond by door locks locking and unlocking automatically.

If locks do not cycle after you let go, not before you let go of the unlock button, then the vehicle has not entered programming mode and you must start procedure over. Remove key from ignition, open driver’s door and return to step 1. If the locks do cycle automatically then proceed to step 10.

10. Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote until the doors lock and unlock. This may take up to 30 seconds.

11. Repeat step 10 NOW for each additional remote. (Including any existing remotes).

12. Turn the ignition to the ON position to exit the programming mode.

13. Test remotes.
