Honda CR-V Programming Instructions HOND-RKE-344-4BT

These are what the Honda Odyssey's instructions most commonly are, but sometimes a vehicle may use different instructions than what is listed.

It can be difficult to get the timing correct while programming this remote.  Read the instructions all the way through before beginning to make sure you fully understand each step and can perform it quickly enough.  If you're having trouble getting the vehicle to enter programming mode, try to vary the timing of the steps.

2002 – 2004 Honda CR-V Self-Programming Instructions:

IMPORTANT: Entering into programming mode cancels all remotes currently saved to the vehicle, so all of your current remotes will no longer work until they are re-programmed. You MUST re-program all of the remote fobs once you are in programming mode. Each step must be completed within 5 seconds of the previous step to prevent programming mode from ending.

If the programming mode ends early and your current remotes are deleted, you can still use them to retry the programming the instructions, but they wont work until you fully complete the sequence.

Before beginning, make sure you have ALL remotes with you. Including any working remotes you had originally.

1. Insert your key and turn the ignition to ON (II) (Do not start the vehicle).

2. On any remote (programmed or not) press the LOCK or UNLOCK button.

3. Turn your ignition to LOCK (0).

4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times.

5. Turn your key to the ON (II) position.

6. Using the same remote you’ve been using in the first steps, press the LOCK or UNLOCK button and your vehicle will cycle the door locks to signify you have entered programming mode.

7. On each remote you wish to have programmed to the vehicle, press the LOCK or UNLOCK button; the vehicle’s door locks should cycle after each one to confirm it has been programmed.

8. Turn your ignition to LOCK (0) to end programming mode.

9. Test all remotes.
